The whole of the above Farm & Cottages has been for some years in the occupation of W.J. Bean lessened however by the 4.08 acres sold during 1901 reducing the reputed 134 acres to about 130 acres. The marsh and salts are not of much value as grazing ground but chiefly as land on which oyster pits can be made for letting to fishermen. A number of pits already exist see map (area coloured green)
As to Cottages and Garden ground:- The whole of the space marked C. is taken for Gardens - the ½ acre of this space nearest the Houses for many years let for £4 = £8 per acre or 1/- per rod.
Note:- The Cottages are more or less out of repair and do not command the rent they did. From envelope marked Miss M. Bean's Documents. Photo: Alan Brook Image ID FIRS_1901_007 Category 1 Families-->Bean / May | |
