Home Farm, East Mersea. Postcard No 146889. About 1939 Home farm, East Road, East Mersea, was farmed by Mr Reed. It was demolished in the early 1950s by Mr Allan, a local builder who lived at "The Anchorage", East Mersea. The roof tiles from this building were saved and reused on the present bungalow which was erected on the site of the old farmhouse in the mid 1950s.
East Mersea Post Office was here for a while, and there is a "You may telephone from here" sign on the building.
