Memorial plaque to Samuel Great and his wife Susan, now in the Natural History Museum, Colchester, having been removed from St. Nicholas's Church when it was demolished in 1955.

The inscription reads "In memory of Mr Samuel Great, Apothecary, who died the 9th May 1706, aged 80 years. And of Susan his wife, who died the 14th of July 1722, aged 83 years. She was daughter of Mr Nicholas Jacques, Merchant, brother to Sir John Jacques Baronet; They had issue 8 sons and 4 daughters."
