Lieut. Thomas Cooke the 55 Reg. of Foot.
Son of the Late Mr Thomas Cooke and Alice his wife
of this place.
He ded Jan 4. 1812 aged 20 years on his return from the West Indies in Honduras Bay,
his remains were interred on shore with military honours.
This memorial was placed here by his afflicated mother as a testimony to her affection and his worth.
