Death of Douglas Cutts - Considerable sympathy will be extended to Mrs Bessie Cutts of Churchfields in the death of her only son Douglas (Jim) Cutts who died in the Blackpool Sanatorium on Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. Previously joining the RAF a little under six months ago, he had been employed in his uncles Mr W. Wyatt's shipwrights office. Of a very quiet and retiring disposition he was a devoted son and had a wide circle of friends and his early death (he would shortly have reached his majority) will cause deep regret. Following upon a post mortem, arrangements are being made by the RAF for the internment at West Mersea. Mrs Cutts, who was only made aware of her sons illness a few days ago was widowed just two years since. There are no other children.
