Title | 1953 Flood picture folder |
Abstract | Folder of orginal photographs, mainly taken very soon after the 1953 Flood.
Donated to the Museum in Feb 2020 donated by Joan Butcher, widow of Mervyn Butcher who was a Brightlingsea man but lived in Victory Road West Mersea from 1975 to 1982 during which time he was an 'inshore fisherman' out of Mersea, he said the 'best years of his life' The album had been left in the house in Victory Road. [ Does this suggest that the Butchers inherited the album when they moved into the house ?
