Primrose Buses were so called because they were painted yellow. The buses were run from 1918 by the Mersea, Colchester & District Transport & Bus Co. Ltd. They were based at the Primrose Garage in the High Street, which also housed charabancs for day trips. The company was taken over by Eastern National in 1935.
