Studio portrait was taken by Mr. Cleghorn, the local chemist and well known photographer of Island scenes, after the marriage of James Edwin French and Grace Mussett. They married at the Parish Church on 22 February 1908 when James was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy. Both James and Grace's fathers were mariners. The picture shows the couple with their parents. The witnesses who signed the marriage register were Dora and Ivy Mussett, Bessie and Nellie French.
