A ShipsNostalgia correspondent, "ManofKent" says "I was on the Mendoza Star as a cadet and paid off on 27th June 1966 after the ship was laid up at Blackwater. She had just completed a trip carrying bananas from Benty in West Africa to Rostock in East Germany."
