Career: | She was built ss LLANWERN in 1962 at Sunderland by Bartrams for EVAN THOMAS RADCLIFFE of Cardiff who sold her in 1968 to Syros owners who renamed her CAPTAIN MICHAEL but who resold her in 1975 to become AGIOS PANTELEIMON.
In 1981, her new owners, MYCALI MARITIME CORPORATION of Piraeus, renamed her PROTOKLITOS under which name at the end of 1982 she was laid up in the River Blackwater
7 Feb 1983 she suffered an engine room fire in the river,
extinquished by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and the RNLI.
Left River Blackwater in tow Spanish tug AZNAR JOSE LUIS and arrived Bilbao 18 Jun 1983 for breaking up.
There were doubts about the origin of the fire. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service put in a salvage claim, and received a substantial award, used to provide gymnasium facilities in Fire Stations in the County.
