Mersea Island Museum - Blackwater Ships
Ship: ESSEX FERRY Arrived: 17 Dec 1982 Departed: 28 Apr 1983 Career: Sold for breaking up to Medway Secondary Metals, Rainham, Kent, arrived 29 Apr 1983. Converted to pontoon and renamed ESSEX FERRY PONTOON. Towed to Haugesund, Norway to assist in salvage work and then broken up in Norway.
