Career:8 May 1945 mined 51.12N 2.27E. "split across deck and down side at after end of No 3 hold". She was taken to the Thames for temporary repairs, discharged, and then laid up River Blackwater. Broken up Antwerp May 1948.

- 10 May 1948 Compensation 5 wks 2 days
Arrived 5 Oct 1945 departed 10 May 1948 for Antwerp in tow tugs SERVICEMAN and TRADESMAN.

"Haven of Rest" by Douglas Gurton lists the vessel and says "HORACE BINNEY" two sections". See DJG_SHP

The Sphere of 04 Aug 1945 has article and pictures re HORACE BINNEY undergoing repairs on Thames as "last ship to be mined in the war in Europe" On 08-09-45 it has an article and pictures re HORACE BINNEY also showing hull repairs
