| Abstract | The Revd. Thomas Ralph Musselwhite, M.A., Vicar of West Mersea
Magdalen College, Oxford. B.A. 1850
Ordained deacon, 1850, priest 1851. Curate of Aston-in-Edgmund [Aston-in-Edgmond]
Vicar of West Mersea, 1863 - 1888. Surrogate.
Married in 1867, Mary, dau of the Revd. Samuel Farman, rector of Layer Marney 1844-1878
A son Thomas Ralph Cyril was baptised at West Mersea, Mar 26th 1871 and a daughter Anne Hilda, December 6th, 1876.
Mrs Musselwhite's eldest brother Samuel was born in 1837 at Buynkdere on the Bosphorus; this probably links with her birth in Turkey on the census form.
The Revd. T.R. Musselwhite died in 1888 at West Mersea and was buried at Layer Marney where his wife's relatives are buried. I have traced no tombstone there.
Mrs Musselwhite's father the Revd Samuel Farman, seems to have widely travelled, as is shown in his publications:-
"Part of Hebrew-Spanish Scriptures" published in Vienna, and
"Ilfutore Destino d'Israeli" published in Malta. His son Sanuel was educated at St John's College, Cambridge; B.A. in 1860, and M.A. in 1863; ordained deacon (Rochester) in 1860 and priest in 1862. (Essex was then in the Diocese of Rochester). He was curate to his father 1860-67; vicar of Pontesbright (Chappel) 1867-69; Vicar of St Paul's, Colchester 1869-75, vicar of Harwich 1875-7, vicar of St John's Colchester 1877-80 - when he left the Church of England for the Church of Rome. He died in London in 1910.
