|Abstract||Long before 1920 Mr Leonard Weaver must have been one of the first Gospellers. On Sunday afternoon he used to hold
his spiritual gathering, his pulpit a horseless cart, his temple the sky surrounded by sea and grass fields, his
organ the sign of the sea. Glory Glory Hallelujah and Onward Christian Soldiers made an exhilarating start to the meeting.
He had a very large congregation and the sermons he preached were forthright and understandable. For example:-
never let the sorrows or difficulties of life overwhelm you, but accept God's dealing realising that he knew best.
After his sermons he would raise his arms and the congregation would then join in singing lustily another inspiring hymn.
He was a very dedicated man and firmly believed that he could restore paradise and open up Heaven to the believers,
but personally escort those that didn't to the gates of hell.
Billy Graham, the famous American hot gospeller has become a legend now with his converts, he has had to have all the trappings of some of the most famous halls in which to perform his conversions and at very great expense. Mr Weaver got his following without any expense whatever, just his own dramatic personality and his own rigorous beliefs.
