1.   In the name of God Amen the third day of September in the twoe and twentith yeare of the reigne of
2.   our sov[er]eigne Lord King Charles the Second of England et[cetera] Annoq[ue] d[omi]ni (=and in the year) 1670 I William dunning of Westmersea
3.   in the County of Essex Seaman being infirme of body but of good and perfect memory and understanding, thanks
4.   be given to Almighty God for the same doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament in manner
5.   and forme following that isto Say First I commend my Soule unto the hands of my gracious Saviour and
6.   Redeemer the Lord Jesus Christe trusting through his blissed merrite to have remission of my Sinnes
7.   My body I com[m]it to the Earth to be buried in decent manner at the discretion of my Executor And as to
8.   that temporall estate wherewith God hath blissed me I dispose of the same as followeth viz Inprimis
9.   I give and bequeath unto my very true friend Francis Gunne Spinster Five and twenty pounds of
10.   lawful English money to be paid her by my Executor within three months next after my decease
11.   And my will and meaning is that if my Executor shall fayle or make default of payment of the
12.   said legacy of Five and twenty pounds by me above given to the said Francis Gunne within the
13.   tyme afore lymitted for the payment thereof that then for: and instead of the same she shall have and
14.   I give and bequeath unto her All my Moity or half peart right interest property and demande
15.   of, in and to all that Sea vessell or Cock commonly called the William and John wherein I have
16.   usually dredged (ie oysters) and wrought To have and to hold to her the said Frances Gunne her Executors ad[ministrators?]
17.   and assignes as her and their owne proper goods and Chattels. Item I give and bequeath unto
18.   my kinswoman Mary dunning daughter of my brother Richard dunning Fifteene pounds of lawfull
19.   English money to be paid her at her age of one and twenty yeares And my will is that her said father shall
20.   have it dureing her minority he Entring bond of thirty pounds to my Executor for the pay[me]nt of the same
21.   according to this my will. Item I give and bequeath to my kinsmen John Cooke and Richard Cooke sonnes
22.   of my brother Richard Cooke deceased Tenne pounds apeece to be paid at their respective ages of one
23.   and twenty yeares . And my will and meaning is that if either of them shall dye within that age unmarryed
24.   and without yssue that the survivor shall have the por[t]ion afor[sai]d hereby given to such of them as shall soe
25.   dye. Item I give and bequeath to Mary Cooke and Martha Cooke daughters of my brother Thomas
26.   Cooke Five pounds apeece to be paid them at their sev[er]all and respective ages of one & Twenty yeares
27.   And my will and meaneing is that if either of them dye within that age unmarryed and without yssue
28,   that then the survivor of them shall have the portion or legacy above given to such of them as shall soe dye
29.   And that their father the said Thomas Cooke shall have the said legacys above given to his said
30.   children dureing their minority he giveing bond of Twenty pounds to my Executor for payment of
31.   the same according to this my will. Item I give and bequeath unto my kinsman John Cooke the
32.   Sonne of my brother John Cooke Tenne pounds to be [rest of line hidden in fold of document]
33.   by my Executor. All the rest of my goods and Chattells and p[er]sonall) estate
34.   not above hereby given and bequeathed (my debts and legacys being paid my funerall discharged &
35.   this my Will proved and p[er]formed I give and bequeath to my brother John Cooke whoe I doe make sole
36.   Executor of this my last Will and testament hopeing that he will carefully and honestly p[er]forme the
37.   Same. In witness whereof I the said William dunning to this my last Will & testament have set my hand &
