1.   In the name of God Amen I John Locker of East Mersey in the County of Essex Yeoman being sick in body but of good and p[er]fect memory the Lord be praised for it I Doe
2.   ordayne & make this my last Wille & testament revoking hereby all other Wills by me heretofore made and doe ordayne this to be my last Will in manner ~
3.   & forme following first I bequeathe my soule into the hands of God that gave it me and my body to the earth in hopes of a joyfull resurrection through the merritts
4.   of Jesus Christ my saviour & redeemer And as for the worldly goods which God of his goodness hath sent me I give and bequeathe as followeth ~
5.   Imprimis I give & devise unto Debora Locker my loving wife All those my copyhold houses & lands with their app{er}ten{an}ces called or known by the name or
6.   names of (Alfgrose?) (Clipswells) & Brownes or otherwise now in my owne occupat(i)on situate & being in East Mersey aforesaid holden of the mannor of ~
7.   East Hall To hold the same to the said Debora during the terme of her naturall life & after her decease I give and devise the same houses & lands unto William
8.   Locker my sonn & his heirs \for ever/ but if the said William shall happen to dye within a yr & without issue Then I give the same houses & lands unto Mary ~
9.   Locker my daughter & her heirs //for ever// But if both my said children William Locker & Mary Locker shall happen to dye within age & without issue Then I give
10.   & devise the same houses & lands unto my Cozens John Harris Joshuah Harris Daniel Harris & Mary Harris & their heires for ever Also I give ~
11.   & devise unto the said Debora my wife All those my copy hold houses & lands with their app[ur]tenances called or known by the name or names of ~
12.   Parniells Kynetes springoules Northide Reiver & Reivers acre situate and being in East Mersey aforesaid holden of the Mannors of East Hall aforesaid
13.   & Reeves Hall & now in the occupat[i]on of John Jeffries or his assigns To hold the last devised houses & lands to the said Debora my wife
14.   for life & after her decease I give & devise the same unto my said daughter Mary Locker & for her heirs //for ever// but if the said Mary shall happen to dye ~
15.   within a yr & without issue then I give & devise the same last devised houses & lands unto my said sonn William Locker & his heires \for ever/ but if both my
16.   said children shall happen to dye within age & without issue Then I give & devise the same houses & lands last ment[i]ned unto my Cozens
17.   Katharine Ely Sara Ely & Elizabeth Ely & their heires for ever Also I give and devise unto the said Debora my wife all those my copyhold houses & land[es]
18.   called Clovers or otherwise with their app[er]tenances situate & being in West Mersey in the said county of Essex now in the occupation of Edward (Hunt?) or
19.   his assignes To hold the same untill the said Mary my daughter shall attaine the age of fifteen years And after such age of the said Mary my daughter I ~
20.   devise the same houses & lands called Clovers unto the said Mary and her heires \for ever/ And my will & mind is that my said two children William &
21.   Mary shalbe mainteyned & educated untill their respective full ages out of the rents & profitts of my lands & tenements therein before demised
22.   Item I give and bequeathe unto my said daughter Mary Locker the feather bed and feather boulster two pillows the green Rugg a pair of Blankett[es] the
23.   Bedsteddle Curtins & all other things thereto belonging which stand in the farthest little chamber & six of the best pewter dishes marked with
24.   A [?] & L & one silver spoone marked with Anne And the biggest Brasse pott to be delivered when she shall accomplish the age of one &
25.   twenty years or at the day of marriage which shall first happen by my Executrix and if my Executrix shall neglect or refuse to deliver those
26.   abovementioned goods then I give my daughter Mary five pounds to be paid at the age & time above said \and? Llastly// all the rest of my goods Chattells
27.   bonds bills dews debts & demands whatsoever I give unto my wife Debora Locker whome I do ordeyn and make my so[l]e Executrix of this my
28.   last Will & testament paying my iust debts & legatyes [legacies] and bringing my body decently to the ground In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my
