1.   In the name of god amen the first daie of September in the fift yeare
2.   of the Reigne of our soveraine lorde James by the grace of god
3.   of Inglande Fraunce and Irelande kinge defender of the faith
4.   and of Scotlande the 41te and in the yeare of o[ur] Lorde god 1607.
5.   I Willi[a]m French of Peldone in the Countie of Essex yeoman
6.   beinge of perfect minde and memorie thankes be to god therefor
7.   doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament in
8.   manner & forme followinge, first I
9.   bequeath my soule into the hands of almightie god and my bodie
10.   to be buried when and where it shall please god to appointe
11.   It[em] I give and bequeath unto Richarde French Ellen French and
12.   Johane French the Children of Richarde Frenche my sonne deceased
13.   the sume of thre and fortie shillinges & fouer pence which, is alreadie
14.   in the hands of their mother and I will the same to \bee/ devided amongst
15.   them at the descretion of their mother: It[em] I give and bequeath
16.   unto Johane Brockk my daughter the sum[m]e of Tenn pounds
17.   of good and lawfull monie of Inglande whereof three pounds
18.   is allreadie in the hands of Michaell Brockk hir husbande and thother
19.   seaven pounds I will shalbe paide unto my saide daughter Johane
20.   by myne execut[ors] w[it]hin one yeare next after my decease also I
21.   give unto the saide Johane my Daughter one Cowe & fower
22.   Shepe one fetherbed one fether boulster one blanket & fower
23.   potes of pewter of the mydl sorte all these to be delivered
24.   by myne Execut[or] at the feast of St michaell tharchaungell next
25.   after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto marie
26.   mott my daughter the sume of Tenn pounds of good and
27.   lawfull monie of Inglande whereof five poundes is alreadie
28.   in the hands of Will[ia]m Mott hir husbande and the other five
29.   pounds I will shalbe paide unto the saide marie my Daughter
30.   by myne execut[or] w[it]hin one yeare next after my decease: also
31.   I give unto the saide marie my Daughter one Cowe beinge
32.   alreadie in hir husbands hande & posession & also I give unto
33.   hir fower shepe my best Joyned Cubarde standinge in the
34.   p[ar]lour one of my best bras potts: and fower potes of pewter
35.   of the mydle sorte: one flockbed, haveinge a featherbed teke [ Note 1 ]
36.   and one blacket: all w[hi]ch shalbe delivered by myne execut[or] at the
37.   feast of St Michall tharchaungell next insuinge after my
38.   decease: It[em] I give and bequeath unto Ellen Themble my
39.   daughter the sume of Tenn pounds of good and lawfull monie
40.   of Inglande whereof three pounds is allreade in the hands
41.   of Robert Themble hir husbande and the other Seaven
42.   within one yeare next after my decease by my execut[or]
43.   also I give unto the saide Ellen my daughter one Cowe
44.   fower Shepe and one of my best Coverlets two bras
45.   kettles and my bible, all w[hi]ch I will shalbe delivered unto hir
46.   by myne execut[or] at the feast of St Michaell tharchangell
47.   next after my decease & further I will & my meaninge [is]

48.   is that the beastes & shepe given Unto my Children shalbe delivered
49.   in manner and forme followinge: that is I will that first my wife
50.   shall chouse out of all my beastes fower which she thinke best of and
51.   then I will my Children shall Chouse out of all the rest those that
52.   are given unto them: and likewise I will that my wife shall Chouse
53.   out of all my shepe twentie where she will and then my Children
54.   to Chouse out of all the rest those that are given Unto them. Item
55.   I give and bequeath unto Michael Brockk my sonnin lawe all
56.   my weareinge apparell my Cloke only excepted unto my execut[or]
57.   It[em] all the rest of my goods what soever unbequeathed my detes
58.   beinge paide & legacies discharged I give them wholly unto
59.   Johane my wife whome I ordeine and make sole executrice
60.   of this my last will & testament; altogither revokeinge all
61.   foremer wills whatsoever heretofore by me made: provided
62.   alwayes and my meaninge is that the saide Johane my wife
63.   w[it]hin foretene dayes next after my Decease shall be bounde
64.   by obligation in the sume of fiftie pounds of lawfull monie
65.   of Inglande to my sonn in lawe Willi[a]m Mott of westmersea for
66.   the true p[er]foremance of this my last will & testament & of everie
67.   thinge therein Conteined, which, if upon request she shall refuse
68.   to doe, Then my only will & meaninge is that she the saide Johane
69.   my wife shall be noe more executrice of this my last will
70.   and testament nor to medle w[i]th the execution thereof: And
71.   then I give & bequeath unto the said Johane my wife
72.   the sume of tenn pounds of good & lawfull monie of Inglande
73.   to be paide unto hir \out of all my goods/ by him the saide Willi[a]m Mot w[it]hin one
74.   yeare next after my decease and allso I give unto hir twoo
75.   of my best beastes my best bedsteade w[i]th the fetherbed and
76.   all thinges thereunto belonginge as it standeth: And I ordeyne
77.   and make Timothie Hearne of Westmersea, Clerk, to be
78.   Suprevisor of this my last will and testament In
79.   witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hande & seale
