In the name of god Amen: in the year of our Lord god 1629 ; on the xxxth [30th]
day of Juenn \I/John Cartter of Eastm[er]sey in the Doyoses of Lundon
beeinge sicke in bodye but perfect in Remembrance thankes bee
gven to god do ordeayne and make this my last will & testament
in manner & forme followinge: Fyrst I comend my Sowelle in
to the handes of Allmyghtye god my Crehatour and to Jesus
Criste my onlye Savior & my bodye to the earth and the Wor-
ldlye godes which god of his marcey hath lente mee I
gyve them As Foloweth: Item I give to Sousande my daught\ter/
Fower poundes of good & Lawfull monye of Ingland to be payd to her
at the age of xx ty [20] yeares: allso I do gyve to her my Inglesh
bybell and the booke set forth by Master David and the remmander
to be delivered to her at the Age of x yeares: Item I gyve to
Jenifa (Eanise?) my daughter four \pounds/ of like monye to be payd to her at the
age of twenty yeares Allso I do gyve to her the booke of Master
Smythes sermondes [Note 2] and the booke of seven Sermonndes on the
Lordes supper to be delivered to her at the age of ten years and
if eather of my daughters do depart this lyffe befor she do come to
the Age of twenty years the longer lyver shall inioye her
Legaseye: Item I do gyve to Elisabeth Hakker my sister on
yeane [Note 1] shepe to be delivered to her with in on month after
my decease: All the Residu of my goudes I do gyve to
Margret my lovinge wyffe and I do Apoynt her to bee
my Excetrixe: to paye my deptes to performe this my will
