1. In the Name of God Amen the thirtieth day of June in the fourth
2. year of the reigne of our sov[er]inge Lord King James the second of England
3. &c And in the year of our Lord God 1688 I peter hunter of West Mersey
4. in the Countie of Essex Butcher being very weak of body but in good & p[er]fect
5. memorie prayse be given to Almightie God for the same doe make & ordaine
6. this my last will & testament First I bequeath my soul unto Almightie
7. God my maker trusting through the meritorius death & passion of Jesus
8. Christ my saviour to receive a free pardon for all my sins & body to the
9. earth out of w[hich] it was framed to be decently buried by the discretion
10. of my Executrix hereafter named And as for that worldly estat w[hi]ch it
11. hath pleased God of his free mercie to bestow upon me I give & bequeath as
12. followeth. Item I give & bequeath unto peter hunter my son the sum
13. of Eleaven pounds of good & lawfull mony of England to be paid to
14. him at his age of Eighteen years by my executrix hereafter named
15. And if ther be need or occasion shall require to pay him tenn or
16. Twentie shillings a year of the afforesaid Eleaven pounds untill
17. he shall accomplish his age of Eighteen years as afforesaid Item
18. I doe also give unto my said son peter hunter my best Feather
19. bedd w[i]th the beding thereto belonging & fower pewtre dishes & one
20. brass pottage pott to be delivered unto him w[i]th in one year after my
21. decease Item all the rest of my goods Chateles houshold stuff and
22. moveables whatsoever unbequeathed I give & bequeath unto Joanna
23. hunter my loving wife & make her sole executrix of this my
24. last will & testament revoking all other wills whatsoever former
25. ly by me made And doe request & desire my trustie & wellbeloved
26. friend & Master John Cooke of West Mersey gentleman supervisor
27. of this my will In Witnesse wherof I have hereunto set my
28. hand and seale the day & year first above writen
