Abstract

Henry's wife is Martha, and he has a daughter Mary and a married daughter, Martha Wendon. He owns Little Haywards in Peldon. He bequeaths Bullockes, Bruers, Carters which seem likely to be 'Brewers and Castors' in the will of Edward in 1609, Henry is possibly his son. His son-in-law is named as William Wendon and the witnesses to the will are John Woolhouse, George Thornbacke, and John Hawkins.

In the name of god Amen I Henery Bullocke
of west mersey in the County of Essex beinge
sicke of body but of perfect memory doe make
this my last will & testamente in form and
mannor as Followeth. Impr[imis] I bequeath my
soule into the hands of Almighty god & my body
to be buried at the will of my Executrix
My will is th[a]t the freehold land lyinge in peldon
called Little Haywards, or by what name els to
be sold as soone as conveniently may be
towards the payment of my debts at the
discretion of my Executrix./
Also I give my house & lands
where I now live called by the name of
Bullockes Bruers Carters & what other names
soever to my wife Martha by her to \be/ sold for
the payment of my debts & legacyes as followeth
my will is th[a]t my wife pay unto my sonne in
law William Wendon the sume of fifty
pounds at or [u]ppon the last of September next
w[hi]ch sume of 50 l[ibre] is part of the portion I
promised him upon his mariage with my
daughter Martha conditionally th[a]t he doe accor
dinge to his promise make my daughter a
a joyntor of twenty pounds yearly out of his
lands. Also I give to my daughter Mary on
hundred poundes of currant mony to be payd
by my Executrix immediatly after the sale of
my house & land in West mersey.
It[em] I give the house where Joan Kynge widow
now liveth w[i]th all the ground thereto belonginge
to my wife Martha & after her decease to
my daughter Mary & her Heyres for ever
All the rest of my goods cattle & Chattles I give
to my wife Martha whom I make Executrix
to this my last will & testament. witnesse
my hand & seale the fifth of March 1646
