Papers loaned in November 2022 by Alan Brook, whose father had lived in West Mersea Hall. The papers are the work of Willoughby John Bean, who had West Mersea Hall until he was bankrupt in 1914. However, he continued to live on Mersea and recorded a lot of the history of the Bean family and the May family.
The papers are all scanned in MMIma090/Brook_Alan folder and important ones transcribed - some of them duplicate others here or existing documents on the families.
Many of these papers are addressed to Bessie, believed to be his sister Henrietta Elizabeth Bean. 1855 - 1950.
