55 of 57 Slide Show Running West Mersea. High Street and Post Office Corner. The Post Office is run by R.L. Page, also titled Chocolate Box. Telephone box outside. There are still petrol pumps outside the bus station. Postcard 149338. Ron Green says "I would date the postcard at late 1930s. I think the P.O. moved to this site [from the other side of Yorick Road] in 1939. In this picture Dick Page's name is over the door, he moved with the P.O. It had previously been Mrs Gowen's sweet shop. My dad [ Les Green] working for Clifford White built the sorting office on the north side tight on to the folly and it can be seen in this picture. The bus looks to be Eastern National."
