PRETTY WEDDING - The wedding was solemnised at the Parish Church on Saturday Sept 21 between Ernest Bert Wyncoll fourth son of Mr and Mrs Tom Wyncoll of Council Houses, and Kate Elizabeth Goody, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Goody of Barnard's Cottages. The rector (Rev AA Giles M A) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr Ernest Goody) was daintily attired in a dress of white satin with veil and orange blossom. She also wore pearls, the gift of the bridegroom and carried a bouquet of white roses and pink carnations. The bride had three little bridal attendants - Joan Goody (niece of the bride), Marion Balls (niece of the bridegroom) and Gladys Wyncoll (niece of the bridegroom). The first two were attired in blue silk, patterned with pink flowers and the third in pink silk patterned with blue flowers. The dresses were in the Victorian style and the little girls all carried Victorian posies. They all wore gold bangles, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Enos Wyncoll (brother of the bridegroom) performed the duties of best man, and Mrs Glenny presided at the organ. A reception was held at the bride's home and the happy couple afterwards left for their honeymoon in London. The bride travelled in a navy blue coat with hat to match. Mr and Mrs Wyncoll will reside at Belfairs, West Mersea. The presents were numerous and included an oak dining table from the bride's employer. Essex County Standard 28.9.1935
