 SCEPTRE on its way to one of the 'Bounty' boats. She was a double diagonal ex ship's lifeboat, and did a lot of work with the ships in the river. In Clarke & Carter's days she was well kept, paint and varnish lavished on her, decks scrubbed and brass polished. The ships have gone and SCEPTRE is slowly decaying on the mud amongst the houseboats, only moving when a big tide disturbs her.
