ALPHA, owned by John Blott. He says "ALPHA was a most desirable ship and I used her until the year 1938, fourteen years, a rather long ownership, and then I was bitten with the idea of power in excess of sail and so built the ESSEX MAID.

Photograph of a painting owned by James Blott, dated 1937 and signed Joseph Grey. ALPHA was 80 feet LOA and built by Ceuvels SB in Amsterdam in 1918. James Blott says they lost track of her in about 1960, at which time she was in the Caribbean, but does not appear in any Lloyds Registers of the period.
