Ron Green tells us about the houses in this picture:
The houses to the right were built for the River Police. Hartley Brown lived in the further one and his father lived in the first one. The cottage with the tall chimney was William Wyatt's. Across the road, the gable facing us was Willow Bank belonged to Jesse Pullen and it suffered subsidence aggravated by the War. It was demolished and a bungalow built on war damage insurance in the place by G.A. Cock. It has recently been upgraded. The next house a bit of which can be seen sticking out behind Willow Bank is Holly Bank and was the home of 'Codger' Gentry, and then Daisy Bank belonged to the French family and was later the home of Mr Bedford the sculptor.
