 Mersea Island Bowling Club. A short history.

Alick Reeve, the West Mersea draper, had the idea of forming the club in 1932. They raised money to buy a piece of land in Yorick Road and build a clubhouse. Among the 24 people who were instrumental in creating the club were Edgar Digby, Allen Farthing, Clairmont French, Charles Harvey, Douglas Percy, Philip Ralph and Howard Winch.
