Steam roller at Abberton Reservoir. The Marshall roller was designed by Mr Stanley Allderidge, the engineer for the Reservoir and built by Marshall of Gainsborough. The driver is Edward Lawson Feathersone, who travelled south to work on the reservoir, having worked on the Burnhope Reservoir in Co. Durham. The family all came down from Wearhead, and then just before the war moved to Sutton Coldfield just before the war where Lawson had a job with his brother in law.
