A puzzle. Thought to be CARNARVONSHIRE ON 132049, CARDIGANSHIRE (9,426 grt, built 1913, ON 132045) or CARMARTHENSHIRE (7,823 grt, built 1915, ON 136347). The only evidence found so far is the photograph in the background of a postcard of Bradwell, taken before 1935. However, there is no mention of these ships in the Oyster Company ledger which begins 1 January 1931.
The Voyage Record Cards for CARNARVONSHIRE 1 October 1927 to 26 October 1936 do NOT show her visiting the Blackwater.
VRC for CARMARTHENSHIRE begin 1 October 1927. No entries between this date and sale refer to River Blackwater etc
CARDIGANSHIRE and CARMARTHENSHIRE were sold 1929 and converted to whale factory ships.
CARNARVONSHIRE was acquired by Glen Line 1933 after the collapse of Royal Mail Line. She was sold for scrap 1935 and broken up Osaka 26 February 1936
