The Sinking of HMS HAWKE

HMS HAWKE was sunk on 15 October 1914 with the loss of 525, of whom 86 were young boys. Amongst the teenagers lost were 4 sixteen year old local boys from the Colchester area. They were Boy seamen 1st class: Harold Ainger, Marshall Claude Allen, Ernest John Rogers and Claude Thomas Sawkins.

This book was produced by Edwin Sparrow to coincide with commemoration in Colchester of the centenary of the loss.
