Albert Lee was born c1898, eldest son of Emma and Joseph Lee of East Mersea. Younger brothers were Alan, Gilbert and Frank.
Albert enlisted at 11 May 1916 as 85813 Private, Machine Gun Corps. He was seriously wounded in the chest at Ypres. His fiance went out to France to visit him in hospital as he was not expected to live. Fortunately he survived.
8 April 1919 discharged from Army.
1922 Jessie Isabel Pullen and Albert Arthur Lee were married at West Mersea Methodist Church.
He was Manager of the local Co-op grocery store for many years.
