TitleLinda receives her MBE from Prince Charles
Abstract On Friday, 18 December, Mrs Linda Bullen of the Catherine Bullen Foundation based in West Mersea, attended an investiture at Buckingham Palace with her family to receive an MBE from His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.

The citation read 'Co-founder, the Catherine Bullen Foundation. For services to relieve poverty, sickness, distress and the preservation of health in rural Namibia.'

Linda commented: "it was an extraordinary day, and one I will never forget. During my conversation with Prince Charles, it was obvious that he had been briefed about the Foundation and Catherine's tragic death!"

After leaving the Palace, Linda visited the Namibian High Commission, to show the staff and His Excellency, Mr Steve Katjiuanjo, the Namibian High Commissioner, her award.

The Foundation was officially launched in 2005 in memory of Catherine Bullen, a fifth year medical student who died suddenly from severe gastro-enteritis at Oshivelo in Namibia on 23 August 2002, aged 22 years. Now in its tenth year, it has raised over £340,000, all of which has been spent on projects in the Omaheke region of Namibia. To learn more about the Foundation, go to www.namibia-aid.org.uk
