The new medical centre in Kingsland Road is taking shape rapidly

Semprini's move. It was in 1961 that world-famous pianist Semprini first used the studio behind Clifford White's building yard in Barfied Road for his piano practice. The "New" houses nearby were then not built and to accommodate them it was found necessary to use the old chapel of rest, shortening it at one end and enlarging it at the other.
Now that Semprini has left Tollesbury to live in Wivenhoe he finds the journey to Mersea taking up too much time and had decided to give up the Mersea base.
He has no intention, however, of giving up his association with Mersea, particularly his presidency of the Mersea Island Community Association.
