George Hone was serving as Sub-Lieutenant on ML121 August 1916 and Lieutenant on ML121 in June 1917. ML121 was one of a series of Motor Launches built by Elco in United States / Canada. They were powered by twin petrol engines with a speed of 19 knots. The complement comprised two officers, two motor mechanics two leading seaman and four seamen.
