Ron Green writes: Pre-war the Regatta Fair packed up at the end of Saturday night and were gone by Sunday morning. We were living in Barfield Road then and I remember Dad saying it went past about 3am - a long train hauled by Princess Marina.
As far as I remember, none of the fairs ran their steam engines after WW2.
