 The steam yacht MEDEA, sailing under the San Diego - Coronado Bay Bridge, was launched in 1904 as a private luxury yacht. She was used by the French as a submarine chaser in WW1 and carried a barrage balloon in defense against the Luftwaffe in WW2. After extensive restoration, she is now in San Diego Maritime Museum.
